| S&A
is capable of setting up a variety of survey administration
methods, including e-mail, internet, telephone (i.e., interactive
voice response) and the traditional paper and pencil approach.
While we have employed all approaches in the past, we have
generally found the paper and pencil approach to be the easiest
and most cost effective, especially in settings where employees
do not have access to their own personal computer (for an
internet-based survey, for example).
When using
paper and pencil surveys, S&A strongly supports group
administration, since we have found this method yields the
highest participation rate. With group administration, surveys
are distributed during working hours, and administered in
a group setting. Each staff member is assigned to a group
and then each group is scheduled for a time and place to complete
the survey. Surveys are collected and returned to S&A's
Chicago office for processing.
Surveys
can be sent directly to the home or distributed through staff
mailboxes, and then can be returned to S&A via business
reply envelopes.

To save on costs, clients typically have their own associates
administer surveys to groups of employees. If anonymity is
of great concern, S&A can have one or more of its representatives
administer the survey. Administration guides are provided
for group administration sessions, and individual administration
scriopts are provided to those that receives a survey in the
mail and are expected to mail their completed survey directly
to Stanard's offices.
Once completed
surveys have been received, Stanard produces survey reports
according to report specifications discussed in the planning
phase.
